No place like…

Today in school we celebrated the BBC music day.

This is the 2nd time we have taken part in this fantastic music event. Led by Mrs Smith the day started with an introduction to this years piece of music called ‘No place like…’ by Kerry Andrew.

The piece blends song with body percussion and instruments. The link is below if you would like to watch this video again at home.

We were then set the challenge of creating our own music, art and dance using ‘No place like…’ as a starting point. Throughout the day all children had the opportunity to work with Mrs Smith in a music workshop.

In their classrooms children then continued their learning, rehearsing their performance pieces. At the end of the school day we came together to perform our music piece and share our artwork and writing based on the theme of home. Have a look below at some of the work we produced!

If you would like to explore ‘home’ further then the book ‘Home’ by Carson Ellis is a great place to start. What an excellent way to end the school term!
